Symposium

which will take place on September 27-29, 2023

 Tbilisi, Georgia 

The Theme of XVI International Symposium is:

Socialist Realism in Literature and Art

International Scientific Committee

Symposium Sessions: 

-         Socialist Realism: Term, Process, Movement
-         Socialist Realism and Soviet Discourse
-         Models and Forms of Socialist Realism
-         Socialist Realism "with a Human Face"
-         Socialist Realism and Metaphorical Thinking
-         Politics and Poetics of Socialist Realism
-         Art and Socialist Realism
 
The Symposium will be held in the in-person format. 
Online format will be considered only for foreigner participants who, due to objective reasons, may not be able to arrive.  
Working languages ​​of the Symposium are: Georgian, English.

The interested applicants should  filled Registration form and upload abstracts in English  here:

Abstract Details:

    • Abstract must be submitted in English;
    • No more than 250 words, Font- Sylfaen, Size 10, Line spacing – single;

The duration of the presentation (except plenary presentations) – 15 min.

Registration will start from March 1, 2023

The deadline for submitting the abstracts is June 30, 2023

Incorrectly filled application forms will not be accepted!

The Organizing Committee preserves the right to select symposium participants.

The approved participants will be sent information until July 20, 2023.

Registration fee for approved participants:

  • In-person participation – € 90
  • In-person participation with a co-author - € 150 (for both authors)
  • Online participation – € 50
  • Participation without presentation (with a status of an attendee) – € 50 
  • Students participation in-person - € 60
  • Students participation with a co-author - € 100 (for both authors)
  • Students participation online - € 40 

(Additionally, upon request by the organizing committee, students must present an official document confirming their status).

The registration fee includes:

  • Publications of the symposium printed and electronic version (program, abstracts, proceeding)  
  • Coffee/tea breaks during the conference days

·         Cultural programme

 

Symposium proceedings will be published in printed and electronic versions, supported by DOI identifier and uploaded in GOOGLE SCHOLAR. 

Featured papers will be published in Sjani (The Thoughts), an annual Georgian scientific journal of literary theory and comparative literature which is included in CEEOL, VABB-SHW, ERIH PLUS and EBSCO.
